Michael Donovan
Founder & Partner
Michael is a true technology pioneer and laid the framework for many of today’s sophisticated media platforms. He came to MediaOcean from his role as founder, worldwide chairman and CEO of Donovan Data Systems (DDS). Michael and L.F. began their first partnership in 1985 when they combined talents to create The Nelson County Community Development Foundation to build much-needed affordable housing in Nelson County. The Foundation remains active today and has won numerous awards for affordable housing innovation.
L.F. Payne

L.F. Payne is President of Three Ridges Group, a real estate development company in Charlottesville. From 1998 to 2020 he was the co-founder and President of McGuireWoods Consulting, a national public affairs firm and a subsidiary of the prestigious McGuireWoods law firm. Payne also served 5 terms in the United States Congress, representing the 5th Congressional District of Virginia. He served on the Ways and Means Committee, the Budget Committee, the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee and the Veterans Affairs Committee.
Prior to his Congressional service, Payne was the developer of the highly acclaimed Wintergreen Resort community in Nelson County Virginia, where he served from 1973 -1988 as Chairman and President of Wintergreen Development. During this time, he consulted with Bankers Trust Co. in New York City on real estate projects throughout the United States. Payne served as an officer in the United States Army Corp of Engineers from 1967 to 1971.
